Our today's Topic: Invest in your calling
The Bible speaking in 2 Timothy 2:15;
"Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that need not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
Many years ago, my husband went on a trip outside the country. At his return, like any other wife, I asked for what he brought back and he took me to where his luggage was. When he opened it, it was filled with books. I became curious and asked, “What else?” Then he replied “That is all
else. The content in these books can make me a manufacturer of what you would have expected me to buy.” That is evident today!
Some people think when you are in the ministry, you do not have much to do. Truth is: being in the ministry or being called by God is also a profession. You are on God’s full- time employment list and you have been called to serve. However, for your service to be impactful, you must be filled with the knowledge of what you have been called to.
This knowledge is not “once and for all,” but constant and always. You must seek to improve yourself if you want to remain relevant. What you know today, cannot be sufficient for tomorrow; but constant upgrading keeps you relevant at all times.
One way you can invest in yourself and ministry therefore, is by reading books.
God’s approval of your ministry depends on the impact you are making in the lives of others. To make impact, you must be well-equipped for work. So, if you or your spouse is a minister, you must embrace the act of studying. You study both your Bible which is the primary source of inspiration but also,other anointed books. This will build you up to become an approved and profitable minister of the gospel. You will not fail God!
Remain blessed.
