Helen Keller was a blind woman who was known for very great work and words that literally got the world standing in awe and that generated great approbation for her. She is the one who responded
to a question that has informed our title for today’s discussion. She was asked what the worse tragedy Of being blind was; and her response was this: "the greatest tragedy of life is not the lack of sight, but Sight without vision".
What she meant by that is that to have sight is one thing; which obviously is having eyes that can see, but there is vision which has nothing to do with your eyes but with your mind. With the eyes you get to
See physical things that are just in front of you and no further; but with your mind you get to see whatto a question that has informed our title for today’s discussion.
With the eyes you get to
is not obvious. With your mind you do not just see the future; you also get to create a future. This is an Activity I choose to call "visioneering". I will explain it to mean the act of forecasting, projecting, and proffering possible solutions and actions to be Taken; many times with great accuracy.
Vision is the ability to use today's happenings to create a preferable tomorrow. That is why many
define vision as "seeing tomorrow today". These are not the functions of the eyes only, but products
of sound minds and strong spirits. Jesus put it so well in our text when He said, "people hear and don't understand, they see and do not perceive". So seeing with your physical eyes is not good enough,
but you are supposed to see and then perceive.
Perception is the purpose of seeing. Seeing is only a means, while perception is the end, and each time
we perceive correctly, vision is born.
Receive grace to see, perceive and birth visions in Jesus Name.
Assignment
i. Ask the Lord to open up your mind and spirit to solid and profitable perceptions.
ii. Ask the Lord for the wisdom of creating visions from the things seen and perceived..
Prayer
-Lord, please open my eyes to see what is not obvious in Jesus Name.
-Father, please activate my spirit to perceive correctly in Jesus Name.
-I receive visions from the spirit realm in Jesus Name.
-Father, please activate my spirit to perceive correctly in Jesus Name.
-I receive visions from the spirit realm in Jesus Name.
Nugget
Seeing is only a means, while perception is the end, and each time we perceive correctly, vision is born.
